In 2017 life in Bali was rapidly turning into a survival of the fittest state with insecurity, uncertainty, hunger, homelessness, hopelessness and general chaos.
This was the time when demands from lawyers, teachers and the civil society for a more just society had turned into violence; and eventually many lives being lost.
By September 2018 the situation had gotten worst. Many had sustained wounds that needed treatment. Homelessness, never before known in Bali, was gradually becoming the the new reality. Youths were fleeing and leaving older people behind. Existing structures and organizations (in and out of Bali) that the population had relied upon before now to help provide for their needs during low-intensity crisis situations could not be relied upon in this new climate.
It is to address the current needs of Bali and its population that BACOSNET was born.
Appreciation goes to:
-The founders of BACOSNET who donated the initial funds in 2018 to send food supplies to Bali, as well as the ground team that braved all odds to distribute the supplies. Their effort encouraged and guided other groups that later sent help.
-All Ndakums (Ndah Nchunyin, Ndah Ntod, BNCA, Ndah Ndanga, Nda Nghet) in the DC metro area who organized fundraiser in late 2018 during the remembrance of those who had died in Bali. The funds raised went through BACOSNET to provide humanitarian assistance in Bali.
-BNCA whose money went through BACOSNET in 2019 to provide humanitarian assistance in Bali.
-Ndakums (Ndah Nchunyin, Ndah Ntod, BNCA, Ndah Ndanga, Ndah Bonibo, Nda Nghet) in DC metro area who sent support through BACOSNET in February of 2020.
More appreciations are uploading as BACOSNET seeks funding to serve the needs of Bali and its population during this ongoing crisis in Cameroon.
